My Hobbies
If you thought I'm just a librarian, think again! I'm so much more than that. When I'm not at work curating books and reading with students, you can find me doing all kinds of interesting activities.
Traveling
I love exploring new cities, visiting historical sites, learning about different cultures, and experiencing nature in unique ways. I'm always looking for my next adventure and planning out trips to satisfy my wanderlust. I recently visited Italy and enjoyed the beautiful architecture, delicious food, and friendly people. I've also been on a couple of road trips in different countries and participated in many sailing and camping excursions.
Reading and Writing
Books are a big part of my life, both personally and professionally. I enjoy reading all kinds of books, from historical fiction to biographies and classics to modern works; there are so many great stories out there waiting to be discovered! I'm an avid writer, too. When I'm not writing up descriptions for the library catalog, I'm usually jotting down ideas for short stories or essays that will eventually become blog posts. I also often write articles for online publications that focus on education and libraries. Writing helps me express my thoughts in a creative way.
Yoga and Art
Staying fit is important to me, and yoga is one of the best ways to maintain physical health while developing a sense of inner peace. I love the feeling of stretching and strengthening my body while focusing on breathing and mindfulness.
Not long ago, I realized that I appreciate artistic expression, too. I enjoy painting in my spare time because it's a great way to relieve stress and express emotions through color and shapes. Besides painting, I'm also interested in other forms of art, such as music and photography.
Cooking
I consider myself a pretty decent cook. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes at home and trying out different cuisines from around the world. It's so much fun being able to create delicious meals that I can share with family and friends! One of my favorite dishes is a simple cacio e pepe with homemade pasta, which I learned to make during my trip to Italy. Another one of my specialties is a savory Thai curry that always gets rave reviews, especially from my vegetarian friends.
Programming
I'm a tech-savvy person, so I like to challenge myself by learning how to code. It's an interesting skill that keeps my mind engaged. Plus, it's great for understanding how Web applications work from the inside out. Python, JavaScript, and HTML are some of the programming languages I like to work with. I'm currently taking a course on Web development so that I can create my own interactive websites.
Gardening
Lastly, I'm a big fan of gardening, and I often spend time in my backyard tending to my plants. I love watching the flowers bloom and learning about different varieties of herbs and vegetables. Gardening gives me an opportunity to enjoy nature while exercising some patience as I wait for the fruits of my labor. It's also a great way to relax and unwind after a long day at work.
As you can see, there are many sides to me. I hope this page gave you an insight into my life and inspired you to find hobbies that make your heart sing. It's an amazing feeling when you discover something that fills you with joy!
